Viola grypoceras with glossy leaves : Fukui / April 3, 2008
The size of the leaves and the length of the internodes are clearly distinctive. Based on information that the plant begins to bloom from the end of December, this day was not the first stage of flowering, and this was a noteworthy characteristic. The strong impression I got from the site was that it looked similar to Viola grypoceras var. exilis (Siebold type) that I had observed in northern Nagasaki Prefecture. It may be rare to describe it this way, but I want to cherish the impression I had from the site.
